My husband and I did this trip to Capri instead of taking the ferry as I wanted more time on the water verse time at Capri. What a great decision! We had Francesco as our captain and he did an excellent job pointing out the sites, taking phenomenal photos and later on keeping refreshments available. We got about 4 hours on the island and we immediately grabbed a taxi with another couple from our boat and went up to Anacapri to make the most of our time here. We were able to fit in the chairlift to Mount Solarno (I highly recommend this) than we walked around town shopping and visited a few churches. We just grabbed lunch from a vendor and then caught the local bus down to Capri and then again back down to the beach. We didn’t have enough time to fully do both Capri and Anacapri but we did have time to relax at the beach bar before getting back on the boat.

Our family of 4 did the day trip from Positano to Capri with Giuseppe. We debated on doing this trip or a hiring a private boat. The boat held 12 people, and our group got on very well. There was plenty of room on the boat for everyone to rotate sitting in the front or back. Giuseppe took amazing pictures of our family on the front of the boat with beautiful scenery. We did not stop for the Blue Grotto, as it was a long queue and very touristy. Capri itself was a bit crowded with the cruise ships. We did enjoy a nice lunch and the convertible taxis that take you from the Marina to the town center. I can’t imagine a nicer trip with a private boat which was much more expensive. This all day trip from Positano to/from Capri was excellent. Our boat guide Giuseppe took us to great spots around Capri and we swam in a fun spot after a few hours in Capri to explore. We were in a boat with 8 others, and it made for a fun, intimate group. Would highly recommend!

Of the five days we spent on the Amalfi Coast, the day trip to Capri with Positano Boats was our absolute favourite by a million miles! Francesco was an excellent skipper and host, the whole thing was so well organised and the views were stunning. You would not get the same experience if you went on a busy touristy ferry directly to Capri’s main harbour. Friends who saw my Instagram posts said I looked like I was living the life of a millionaire. This is a must do for a trip to the Amalfi Coast & Capri.

the tour is spot on! amazing, we saw the coast, jumped in the water went to all the caves and to the amazing faraglioni than stopped on the island for a spot of lunch and back to positano!
